Past major birding trips

• Southern Ecuador - May 2025 - thrilling start, but cut short due to devastating floods and landslides, chose to return home early. Will want to revisit.
  • Also included a one-day layover in Panama, which was fun and also worth a revisit someday
• Western Mexico - April 2024 - w/ friends - seeing the total solar eclipse was the primary objective, but outstanding few days of birding before and after - eBird trip report
• Taiwan - Dec 2023 to Jan 2024 - mostly for seeing family, but quite a few days and mornings were free for birding - eBird trip report
• Peruvian Amazon - July 2023 - with private guides - plus a solo one-hour(!) birding layover in Lima - eBird trip report
• Washington, USA - Jul-Aug 2022 - first Pacific pelagic, long hikes in Olympics and North Cascades. Poor time of year for birds, ended up being more exciting for butterflies and hiking.
• Chiapas Mexico - March 2018 - with major tour company group - eBird trip report
• Australia - February to May 2007 - studying abroad, with little independence
• Taiwan - varied times between 1990s and 2011
