Multi-day backpacking down an Andean elevational gradient very unique and exciting!
Concerns
Few birding reports
Where to find other detailed trekking reports?
Transportation at the bottom (Chairo) requires help from locals to arrange on the fly
Some supplies likely need to be obtained in La Paz, ex: cooking stove fuel, food, etc.
Extra days also need to be spent acclimatizing to elevation.
How sketchy is the trek's infrastructure at the moment? Ex: bridges, ziplines(?!), etc.
Travel to La Paz quite expensive, compare with other Latam destinations. And flights all seem to arrive in the middle of the night (2-4am), and depart extremely early (5am).
Avoid wet season. Dry season is April-September?
Good birding around Coroico, but returning to La Paz can be hairy, even on the new highway
